Reblogged from The Badger Hut:
In 2003, Atlantic writer Jonathan Rauch penned an essay entitled "Caring For Your Introvert: the habits and needs of a little-understood group."
Do you know someone who needs hours alone every day? Who loves quiet conversations about feelings or ideas, and can give a dynamite presentation to a big audience, but seems awkward in groups and maladroit at small talk? Who has to be dragged to parties and then needs the rest of the day to recuperate?
Folks think that because I blab about my life on the internet, organize community events and have a performative side, that I am an extrovert. THIS IS JUST NOT SO!
Hey, thanks for the link.
welcome!
I am so delighted to have found this piece! It’s an amazing resource and validating to so many! So many artists and writers are introverts and it seems like we are just beginning to develop a language and a dialogue for discussing our emotional and psychological need of quiet time and processing!
