Hip Hop Artist & Film Maker, Metahuman, of Reel Boi Productions
I am so honored to have had the pleasure of working with so many amazing and talented artists. Currently I’m working on a new project, a music video for the song “So Pomo” by Metahuman. Metahuman is a gender queer trans man hip hop artist, film and event producer with whom I’ve collaborated with for many years.
“So Pomo” is a musical response to homo/transphobia and the video depicts a surreal queer takeover of a hostile environment that culminates in a celebration of our fabulous lives! Through camp, surrealism and fantasy, “So Pomo” celebrates queer desire and subverts the notion of fixed sexual and gender identities. ‘Pomo’ stands for Post-Modern, and Pomosexual is someone who identifies as beyond the labels of gay, straight or LGBT.

We have an amazing lineup of queer filmmakers working on the project, collectively our films have screened hundreds of times around the world, won awards, and aired on Logo’s ‘Click List’.
The Star Of "So PoMo" dj, BZZZRP!
This video shoot is a labor of love, so costs are low, but we do have to eat! We pretty much just need money to feed the cast and crew and for gas money. Then there’s a few small pieces of equipment to rent, and that’s it. Making a film is expensive work, even if it’s a project with tons of volunteer effort. We really do need your help to make this project happen!
We’ve been in preproduction for monthes and are slated to begin shooting April 23rd! We’ve chosen to create a Kickstarter campaign to help us to raise money to help us recoup some of the out of pocket costs. Kickstarter is a platform for funding creative projects where you can donate as little as $1 and you can even log in with your facebook!
In exchange for your support, we offer a variety of rewards including our incredible gratitude. Funding is all-or-nothing, so we must raise our full $1,300 for this project by April 21st 2011. If we don’t make our goal, nobody will be charged. We think this is an exciting way to create independent media, and we hope you do too.
